EditorPlanned
An editor for documents that run.
We plan a visual editor that lets people build and change IDOP documents without writing code. It does not exist yet. This page explains the direction, and how documents are made today.
§ 01Today
How IDOP documents are made now.
Start from a template
Forty first-party templates open as your own documents. Their content is yours to change.
Ask an AI assistant
Give any language model our authoring prompt and describe what you need. It writes the document; you validate it.
Write it as web code
HTML, CSS and JavaScript plus a manifest. If you can build a web page, you can build an IDOP document.
§ 02Direction
What the editor is meant to be.
These are design goals, not features. They will change as we learn.
- Edit the document, not a copy of it. Changes are made to the .idop file itself and saved as revisions.
- Structure before styling. Inputs, calculations, views and data are first-class, so that logic stays inspectable.
- Permissions in plain language. Anything that reaches the network is declared, explained and visible to whoever opens the file.
- Code when you want it. Everything the editor produces is ordinary, readable code a developer can continue.

Open your first IDOP document
IDOP Cloud runs in the browser. Start from a template, open a file you were sent, or keep your own — no installation, and no account needed just to open a document.
